About Me

Welcome to grade 7th science! My name is Mrs. Pant (Pun-th) and I’ll be exploring the exciting world of science with you. I am married and have 2 children. I have Master's in psychology and have 9 years of experience in education, working with preschool, elementary and middle school. After 5 years of wearing different hats with Canyon Vista, finally, I found my niche, teaching science to middle school students.

I’m passionate about teaching and learning. Education, I believe should be aimed at empowering students such that, they take control of their own learning, and become lifelong learners. A World-famous physicist, Noam Chomsky once answered a student’s question about what will be covered in class by saying “It doesn't matter what we cover, it matters what you discover." My aim hence is to make my students discover and rediscover not only the wonders of science but of learning.
My principal role as a teacher, I believe is to unlock potential. Each student is gifted and unique. Each student learns differently and my aim will be not just to teach my subject, but to teach the student by designing an interdisciplinary, differentiated classroom that not only addresses the myriad needs of my students but also creates an environment conducive to learning.
In a dynamic world where things are constantly changing, I feel I need to equip my students with skills and experiences that will prepare them for an uncertain world. What they learn should be meaningful to them. And their learning will only be meaningful to them when they can apply it in real life situations. I promise to take their learning beyond the classroom and make it experiential.
I want to inculcate in my student's love of learning in general and science in particular. I will be their guide, mentor and make them understand that science is not just a subject, but a way of life.
I look forward to a wonderful year together. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
